Patent name: METHOD FOR TREATMENT OF CUMENE OXIDATION OFF-GASES Patent Number: Patent No. 2142326
Priority: November 03, 1997
December 10, 1999
Method for treatment of off-gases from organic solvents in cumene oxidizing process to cumene hydroperoxide involves first-stage adsorption of cumene at 10-40°C using hydrophobic adsorbent. Oxidation off-gases are supplied after first stage of adsorption to second stage of methanol adsorption using hydrophilic adsorbent, silica gel, and fully cation-substituted zeolite, type X or Y. During first and second stages desorption is effected by water steam. Desorbed products of first stage are returned to cumene oxidation process. Second-stage desorption product (methanol) is separated. Reconditioned adsorbents are cooled down by exit clean off-gases coming from parallel-running adsorbers. Off-gases are cleaned from methanol in the process to 5 mg/m3. |
