Patent name: METHOD FOR TREATMENT OF CUMENE OXIDATION OFF-GASES
Patent Number: Patent No. 2129905
Priority: December 01, 1993
May 10, 1999
This invention may be utilized for treatment of cumene oxidation off-gases in a process of phenol/acetone production via cumene. The method comprises passing cumene oxidation off-gases through an adsorbent layer, treating a spent adsorbent with live steam, and drying said adsorbent with air, wherein the off-gases formed in the process of cumene oxidation are passed at a temperature of 10 to 40°Ñ, commercial Zeocar type zeolite-containing catalyst of catalytic cracking is used as an adsorbent, the treatment is carried out with water steam in an amount of ten times more than the cumene adsorbed, and the drying is carried out by passing air at a temperature of 120 to 150°Ñ. The invented method for treating off-gases provides a sufficiently high sorption capacity and an enhanced lifetime of the adsorbent. |
