Patent name: METHOD FOR JOINT PHENOL, ACETONE AND ALPHA-METHYLSTYRENE PRODUCTION
Patent Number: Patent No. 1391030
Priority: July 10, 1986
November 21, 1991
This invention refers to ketones, in particular, to joint production of phenol, acetone and ?-methylstyrene, which are used in the petrochemical synthesis. The purpose is to stabilize the yield of the desired products. Their production comprises acid cleavage. The cleavage process is carried out on an acidic catalyst, wherein the cleavage mass is circulated at a temperature of 40-70°C in the circulation loop, an aqueous ammonia solution or water being added to the said circulation loop where the acid/ammonia ratio is (7.6-11.5):1 or the water/acid ratio is (16.7-50):1; the cleavage mass is then kept at 80-100°C and 0.3-5 excess pressure in a plug-flow reactor. Acetone is additionally introduced to the plug-flow reactor in an amount of 10-40 wt.% of the cleavage mass. This method stabilizes the yield of the desired product at a level of 98.5-99.5%. |
